The U.S. Fire Administration reported that between 2002-2004 that clothes dryer fires where responsible for about 12,700 U.S. residential fires, fifteen deaths, 400 injuries and $99 Million in property damage annually. New home construction trends place clothes dryers and washing machines in areas of conveniences for the home owner but are more hazardous areas such as bedrooms, second-floor hallways, bathrooms, and kitchens.
